So, she IS dead!! Re-animated perhaps! Maybe that’s what the uncles are working on! Re-animating dead ones. That’s the odor! Odor of dead ones.
Maybe, even Owen’s parents are re-animated!!!!
At this point, I’ve come to the conclusion that the Uncles have discovered a way to reanimate corpses (after a fashion) and drain/transfer the vitality or life out of others for themselves. Remember, they’ve supposedly been living here for decades, and they were old men THEN. Also, after the rag-and-bone man went missing they got suspiciously energetic and fit. I swear Uncle Orphadel even regrew his teeth. Whether they have a “Deal With the Devil” thing going on, or achieve this through “Mad Science” means is any-ones guess.
