My favorite boss always used to say being a librarian is a much more physically demanding job than people realize...guess she was on to something!

    My goodness! That photo is like one of those contrived textbook illustrations that shows, in a single image, the complete set of possible OSHA safety violations that can happen in a library. I hope she at least remembers to lift from her knees.

      You’re so right! I hadn’t even noticed with everything else going on in that image, but she’s even using the “this is not a step” step! This lady was hardcore.

    while i agree that librarians are more what they seem – remember giles anyone? – this one seems a bit too old for such shennigans.

    My father worked in a library when i was a kid, so i was practically raised by librarians. This is more accurate than most people think. You should have seen this one old lady using a circular saw to bind periodicals.
